Those are pretty good! I´ve allways been impressed with Evochron, that guy sure made a nice universe with freeform flight in just a mere 25Mb!
Also, I did enjoy Universal Combat some time ago, It´s scope was incredible, but it´s really hard to make a game with so many genres (spacesim, FPS, RTS...), and in the end, the only really good one was the space sim part, the other were rather superficial.. Anyway you still gotta give credit to the guy, cause he´s been there for a lot of years, still creating games up to date based in his universe, not niche games anymore, but he´s still updating UC with his other game´s new graphics, thus making it a pretty actual game. In the end I gave it up after running out of things to do, because you never really advance your career or get any new ships.
I didn't know that orbiter flight sim, but it looks pretty interesting, I´ll be giving it a go whenever I get some time out of work.
Oh, I gotta admit I´ve never had the pleasure of playing Frotier Elite or other classics like Wing Commander, But they are well known wide and far, perhaps I´ll get to try them some day i get my hands on it, but I´m afraid I´ll probably be pushed back by their oldschool graphics...
On another note, there´s a pretty nice remake of the mythical Wing Commander on the
vegastrike engine called
Parallel Universe.
